The Cubs started out in great fashion in the first two innings, keeping the score close and playing great defense. The second inning would score three runs, wit ha walk from Alex, a Single by Blake and a terrific shot in the outfield for a triple by T.J. The next half inning for the Phillies would tie the game at 3-3. Once again the Cubs struggled with the top of the order, scoring no runs, allowing the Phillies to slightly take the lead. The fourth inning with the middle of the order, was once again a rally for the Cubs, scoring another three runs which put them in the lead 6-5. The Phillies would score 2 runs, putting them in the lead by one. The bats once again would not get around at the top of the order, which led to the last half-inning of the season, where unforced errors in the field and back-to-back homeruns would end the Cubs season on time, 11-6. Game balls were given to T.J. for his great triple, and Smitty for his rocket to the outfield. I'd like to say I had a great time this season, and look forward to playing next year. We'll see these people next year:

Phillip
Danny
T.J.

Cubs Win First Round Game 5-2
It was a hot and humid day Monday night, but that wouldn't slow down the Cubs. The Cubs got out of the first inning due to the Reds not having a clue of what they were doing by running the basepaths. Hitting led to two force-outs at second base, leaving Coach mad at "Sliding." Pitching picked up, which led to once again no runs. Hitting didn't cash in, which still kept the game close. Once again, the third inning had no runs for the Reds. The top of the order was soon up, to knock in a few runs, and the coach didn't have to throw a ball at anybody. Danny hit a rocket to centerfield, that would result in a close play at the plate, that was barely safe, and a triple. The next batter, Danny stole home due to a beautiful rainbow that the catcher threw to back to the pitcher. The Cubs would only score two more runs the rest of the game, and so would the Reds in the sixth inning. The game ball was given to Blake, for a great 5 inning shutout. Afterward, the Award Ceremony was a bit special. Thanks guys, and lets go get the Phillies!
Yours Truly,
Mr. Emotin/Webmaster

Pirates, Phillies & Braves [oh my]
The Cubs played a hard fought game against the Phillies for the third time this season. With "Uncle Buc" and "Dr Phil" at school, the Cubs picked Danny and Austin from the bullpen to help with the pitching. The Cubs started off the game hot, with five runs in the first inning, including Alex putting one over the fence for a home run. The problem came with the Phillies first at bat, where they scored six runs to get back ahead of the Cubs. The Cubs were chasing the Phillies for the rest of the game, but the Phillies hung on for the win.
